Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2019

Steven Milne was Monday’s featured Modern Apprentice.  Steven works at Woodside Court Nursing Home in Glenrothes and is a Social Services and Healthcare Modern Apprentice.

 

Steven said “I enjoy this style of learning as it is within the workplace and not ‘mundane’ like other qualifications.”

Tuesday’s featured Modern Apprentice was Liam Brown.  Liam works in Amaretto Italian Kitchen and Bar and is working through Food and Beverage Service SCQF L5

 

Liam said “Glad to be on the programme which will enable me to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.”

We featured Robyn Law on Wednesday.  Robyn works for G4 Claims and is a Business and Administration Modern Apprentice.

 

Robyn said “The MA programme was good for me as I learned not only how to do my job but why.  It made me more comfortable as I was doing it in my usual work environment.” 

Thursday’s featured Modern Apprentice was Michael Hamill.  

Michael is a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician working with Johnson Stalbridge Linen Services, a laundry services provider, currently working through Engineering Modern Apprenticeship.

 

Michael said “Enjoy MA training and feel I am progressing well.  Learning new skills in both electrical and mechanical engineering and feeling more confident in doing so.  This will help me with jobs later in life and the qualifications to do them.”

Michael McLaughlin was featured on Friday.  Michael is a Care and Playfull Learning Support Worker with MACS - Mearns After Care Services Childcare Provider.

 

Michael said "I like working in care because it helps my confidence grow as well as the children's, and I learn new skills at the same time."
